Welcome to the Forum!

Hi all,
I am a new member, and I have spent a lot of time on this site. It has been like a bible for me!!! I am a 29 yr old male that has had widespread twitching for ~3 months, with the first month being the worst. I have not experienced any weakness yet. I had an emg 3weeks-1 month into the symptoms. It came back clean, and exam was good. The neuro said that he did not even think it was bfs, let alone als. He said that it could be a vitamine dif. like mag. or calicum. I am still waiting more bloodwork.
I still worry though, my question is did I have my emg done to early to pick up anything serious? Also my twitches have seemed to back off in their severity in the last couple of months--i.e they do not seem to thump as hard or as often, I almost have to concentrate (analize) my body to feel some of them. Is this a good sign or a bad sign that the muscle is getting weaker? Thank you for any replies.

I don't think you had your EMG too early. I am sure your neuro would have mentioned this if he was worried. Neurologists are pretty good at picking up neurological diseases and als is one that they usually do not miss.

Hi Milkman, you'll notice your twitching will fluctuate so much. Usually harder and more often when you're more stressed out. It doesn't mean you muscles are getting weaker. Try to reduce the anxiety and stress and you'll notice the reduction in twitches. Good luck and welcome!
