Hi, Dani!
I just discovered your new message, and noticed that no one has yet responded, so I would like to be the first to say "Welcome!"
) I'm sure you will find lots of moral support and good advice here, and we look forward to learning more from you about your own experience.
As for your alcohol question, I don't react well to alcohol at all, so I can't say that it would be "therapeutic" for me -- but each of us is different, so who knows?
I am certain, however, that the physician who said your symptoms "might be a psychological problem" is thoroughly underestimating the physical nature of BFS. I also suspect that lots of other folks here will also confirm that it is not all in your head!
As for stress being a contributing factor, my suspicion is that part of the reason is that stress is notorious for depleting our mineral reserves -- and there seems to be a strong connection between electrolyte imbalances and/or mineral deficiences and BFS symptoms. At least, in my own case, that has proven to be true, and several others here have suggested that this may be true for them, as well.
In any case, I loved your closing remarks:
probably we are all a bit the same type of human being.. concerned about everything, of our health, job and future and about others. we cannot sleep because we think too much. otherwise we would not "google our illness"..
How true!
Glad to have you here!
