Hi gang.

I'm checking in to let you all know how I'm doing. I've been reading new posts today too and there are lots of newbies!

I've been on a leave of absence from work since the last week in June and I go back next week. After last summer, I really needed the time off. I bought a camper back in April and I took it to West Virginia, where I had a speaking engagement. Contrast this to this same time last summer, when I was truly overcome with fear of having MS and had lost about 20 lbs. The heat and humidity don't make things any better either.

As far as bfs goes, I still have minor calf twitching but I've noticed it in MANY other places too. I just acknowledge it and move on. My tongue had a week or so of annoying activity earlier this month. This too passed. Earlier this week I had some bad leg fatigue, but I attributed that to having mowed two yards on consecutive days, one with 12 inch tall grass.

Other than that, I'm doing great! I'm still on zoloft, but I will talk to my gp at my physical later this month about coming off it. It certainly isn't doing me any harm and I can easily see myself tripping back into the old anxiety pit. If zoloft can help keep that from happening (note the word "help"...most of the work is up to ME) then I'm in favor of continuing it. I still have days when my muscles ache for no apparent reason, but it's short lived so I just move on.

To the newbies, I just want to say that this is a very WEIRD condition but it's HARMLESS. We're all in much better health than we appreciate and we just shouldn't dwell on our hypersensitivity. There's too much other neato stuff to do, like watching the Perseid meteor shower tonight (Thursday). More later.

FYI, I've had two neuros tell me Zoloft can cause twitching. I was taking it before I started (but I had a lot of other problems that could have precipitated the twitching too, I don't necessarily blame Zoloft, though it is on my list of suspects--but not at the top).
