Hello everyone,
I am Bruno, 40 yrs old and in healthy, sportive condition. I wanna tell my weird story; it started in the early days of last march after a time of massive emotional stress:
paresthesia and numbness of my left hand (Im right-handed) and a feeling of weakness/stiffness in the whole arm. My left arm has seemed toget fatiqued much faster than the right one; I first noticed it while eating when I was trying to move the fork to the mouth or when I did some work over my head.
Around 6 weeks later in april fascics started in my back (latissimus) to progress all over my entire body within a few days. Esp. both calves are fasciculating non-stop and randomly my pectoralis, back, stomach-muscles, biceps, arm, hand, face and neck.
Around one week later I started to feel generalized fatique and shaky feelings for the most muscle-groups of my body with aching after very normal work (aching of my jaw-muscles the day after chewing a gum!). My muscles seemed to get very shakey esp. while static work/movement i.e. holding newspaper, mainly left side.
Paresthesia and numbness disappeared completely till today.
Very weird but ive been able to have a MARKED INCREASE of power with lifting weights (30-60% reps) during the last weeks.
2-3 times/week running for six miles is still no problem same as 100 push-ups.
I dont see any weakness on my left arm while exercising, but after the training i often note slight aching muscles (forearm/wrist/pectoralis) little like tendinitis - ONLY LEFT SIDE. It seemed left trapezius, biceps, forearm and esp pectoralis have an increased tone often; feel "stiff" or kinda tense.
I ve had 3 neuro-examinations during the last 3 mths with with normal reflexes CT-Scan, 2 EMGs, bloodwork - ALL CLEAN & NORMAL. My neuro said its stress/anxiety related and probably I am hypchondric.
I try to believe but esp the stiffness and tone of the left arm are scaring me and I fear a beginning spasticity. And I am still twitching...
Do you think this symptoms could be BFS-related?
Is it possible the EMGs have been done too early? (twitching since 2,5 mths)
Would a BEGINNING spasticity have been recognized during the neuro-examinations? Is there any harmless reason for the increased tone of my muscles?
Thank you all fo reading and best wishes!
