Weird Skin Sensations - BFS?

Hey Everyone,I am not sure if this is the BFS or just something else, but I think I remember people on here talking about weird skin sensations before. For the past few days I kind of feel like my skin is burning, or like really sensitive to the touch (its uncomfortable to wear tight fitting clothes or to be hugged and stuff). Its particularly on my back, but I am feeling it in my forearms and upper arms, ribs, butt and thighs. I used to feel this way when I was a teenager right before I was about to start my period, and sometimes I feel this way now too when I get sick. I am also feeling a little feverish, really fatigued, and my joints in my knees, wrists and ankles are all really sore. I took my temperature and it is only 98.9, so no fever (and I am assuming no flu or anything like that), and took a pregnancy test (just for good measure, some people feel like crap when they get pregnant). I also do not feel sick to my stomach or have a sore throat or anything like that. I am wondering if this is the BFS. Does anyone else experience such symptoms with flares (it is rainy and disgusting here in NYC, which can sometimes cause people to flare)? If so do you have any advice for easing them? If you don't think this is BFS any of the docs or healthcare professionals out there have any ideas?Help please, I am so uncomfortable right now :(

My BFS does sometimes cause unplesant sensory symptoms so I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe you aer coming down with something and your temp hasn't started rising yet.Take care, regards. Simon

Megan i once described the very same to my neuro, that almost every square inch of my skin is ultra sensitive to the slightest touch, ive also had burning itching pulsing and cold and wet sensations on a daily basis in my lower legs. Its tough and its annoying as hell. Now the summers finaly arrived here i can wear shorts, a light cotton t shirt and a pair crocs with no socks on and feel a load better.Take care ;)

Hi Megan, sorry to hear about your discomfort, but rest assure - you're NOT alone with this (if that gives you any comfort ...)!I too experience painful sensations, mainly in the extremeties such as fingers and toes. If I stroke my big toe on the upper side, the response is not what one would expect (a pleasent feeling), but a painfull sensation.Like I'm touching an area that has been bruised or so. That can also happen in several of my fingers. That scares the living hell out of me. Another textbook-book symptom in my ongoing MS-fear. However – two MRI's, one EMG and one nerve-conduction study hasn't shown anything, so according to the neurologists, nothing's wrong … Well something is definately wrong – I can't just get a simple answer. Guess they don't come easy in our cases …//P

Hi there! I have been off this board for a quite a while, but saw your post I wanted to let you know how I could relate....My twitching is very minimal these days, but this week, due to a high stress situation (I have a lot of health anixiety)... I started twitching a little more, and I have this weird burning feeling throughout my body... My face, chest, arms, back.... very strange senstion. Almost a tightness. I know last year I had the same thing when I was very anxious, so I am thinking it could be that...Hang in there, it will most likely subside sooner than later.Andrea
