hej theremy thumb begins to trembling/tremoring in certain positions, per instance when i hold a sheet of paper between thumb an index finger, my thumb begins to tremble. only the left one. if feels like weakness right between the two fingers...is this meant to be weakness, does anyone experience this too? i also have twitches right beside the shine bone on the tibialis anteriour muscle. anyone too?thanks for your help!

I get tremors when I hold things sometimes. I'm a teacher and I hold heavy books to pieces of paper up as I'm teaching all day. I also get tremors sometimes holding a fork while eating. The tremor is subtle but there.

also only one side? i don't know if this is a tremor, don't really know what a tremor is....but it feels like it is a sort of weakness, when my thumb start to move up- and downwards...if i spread the thumb i can trigger it too.....

I had this much more in the beginning, but now every so often I get postural tremors (I think they are called.) Like when you exert the muscle and it shakes. No weakness, just shaking.

Some of you may have seen from another post of mine within the past week or two that I have been obsessing about new hand symptoms too. I am keen to hear more about what others who have contributed to this thread have described. Can you please elaborate on the term 'trembling'? Does the whole hand/ finger/ thumb tremble, or is the muscle being tenses that trembles? If the latter, does the muscle actually twitch/ fasciculate or is it more the feeling that we all get when we have held something too heavy for too long and are about to drop it? As a general principle, trembling digits/ hands and trembling ,uscles when severely tensed are both normal. The other phenonemon is the one that I have lost sleep about and, whilst this too is probablynothing, I would love to hear what others think of it.CheersSimon

i don't know how to explain this simon....but if i spread my thumb or if a hold something inbetween the index finger and the thumb my thumb is moving up and down...i don't know if the origine is a fasciculation between the two fingers that i cannot see or if it is just the finger itself....but the movement comes from the muscle between the two fingers....also when i want to rest my chin on my thumb it begins to tremble quite quickly....only the left one, the right one doesn't....;-( is this weakness???

I seem to be in the same boat. I notice after playing with my hand puppets, for even five minutes, that my forefinger begins to tremble. Sometimes, audience members think my puppets are crying, but it is just my bloody hand shaking. I may have to give up my career if I can't get this under control. Oh, grrr on you bfs.Basso :(

I have the same issue with my thumbs where if I hold a piece of paper, they begin to shake. It does feel like weakness too because they become fatigued quickly from just hold a piece of paper. The thumbs feel sore too almost like an overworked muscle. I've had this symptom for quite some time. It doesnt seem to be getting worse but it is definately persistant. It seems my left thumb tends to be more effected than my right for some reason. I also get occasional twitches in my thumbs as well so I don't know if this is what is causing the fatigued feeling.

my left hand especially gets tired from things like using the keyboard. I realized that im holding my elbow up a little bit at times, and as a result, my left hand begins to tremble while im holding it over the keyboard. Also, after exerting it for a few minutes doing something, it starts to shake uncontrollably if i try to keep holding the exertion. No one else seems to notice, but it is very apparent to me and very troubling. This thread is a bit of a relief though, hearing about others' hand/tremoring problems.

Alot of people's muscles tremble when they are tired or fatigued. I have something similar with my right thumb that is been going on for almost 5 months now. It would tremble and feel weak when I would turn pages of books or hold a spoon up to eat... but it was on and off and seems to be getting better. but if you can snap your fingers (thumb and middle finger) then I don't think it would be considered real weakness... maybe just fatigue...
