Vitamin D Deficiency and BFS?

I eventually couldn't take it anymore and decided to see a doctor. Before I could be given a referral to a neuro they did blood work. My blood work revealed I was vitamin D deficient. Unfortunately Dr. Google has been very unclear as to whether or not vitamin D deficiency can cause BFS. I am just very worried and anxious because I can't tell if I am seeing any improvement or not yet. My basic question is does anybody here know the relationship between low vit. d and BFS?

There have been several reports here of forum members having low Vit D - then supplementing and finding some relief. Just use the search function here for Vitamin D and you will see.....Here's a link from Medline where several symptoms of deficiency overlap with BFS and BCFS symptoms:

Hello Markymark.I was low in d vit when bfs began along with low b12 since i had malabsorption problem but after the proper t/t my vit levels came back to normal.I will say i had 40 to 50 % redn in fascics with d correction of vits. There is scanty medical literature revealing the assocn betn low vitd n bfs,but i believe low d can cause hypotonia, percieved weakness ,bony myalgic pains n yes fascics.Takecare.........baily.

Thanks alot for the replies, but you are all just as well aware as I am about the accompanying anxiety that comes with bfs and how that alone can exacerbate symptoms. Sometimes you just need reassurance and I am glad I was able to get some here :)

Or the other way around - your symptoms encourage your anxiety? The problem I have is *beep* - a symptom I get when my muscles won't relax.Never underestimate the power of being pro-active in regards to your wellness - get some vit d and go for it (however, I understand that it takes a while to build up your levels).

Imok I wish you wouldnt drag the level of the forum down with your constant bad language. Its not big and its not clever.anyway,As far as I know vit D is totally harmless so why not?and imok is right about the mental aspect too.

.....and it's so lacking in originality - instead I will try throwing rocks at squirrels when my muscles cramp. How's that for a placebo?Yes, Marky - you get some reassurance with a dose of weirdness here at the forum. However, I do think some kind of activity to release tension would help - you should try it - a great distraction from your anxiety.

Try what now? activities to release tension and istract from anxiety....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmitty hmmm hmmmm...filthy just filthy.I mean really.
