Vibrating Sensation: BFS or ALS?

I have a constant steady vibrating sensation in my legs every night. Is this a symtom distinct to BFS (and NOT to ALS). Or is it part of both disorders? Is 'buzzing/vibrating' a type of fasciculation, or something altogether different? I'm trying to give myself some peace of mind here (I forgot to ask this question to my neurologist).

I have had the buzzing, electrical feeling in both of my feet for10 months now. The feeling wil come and go. I would say that in a typical day the buzzing is around for 30 percent of my waking time. I have gotten used to it and it is not a sympton of ALS. The feeling is like my feet are plugged into an electrical outlet and sometimes I can feel the buzzing with my hands when I touch my feet. These symptoms started a few weeks after I was on Cipro in Dec.03. I do believe that it was the Cipro that has started my BFS.Just try and relax and soon you will get used to the feeling. One day it will probably just disappear.

JGB:

I had no symptoms of BFS *except* buzzing feet, and I went to a neuro and got an "all OK" after nerve conduction study. It went away for a couple of years, or maybe I just got used to it? No, it must have actually gone away, because I didn't notice it again until almost 2 years later, getting tons of bug bites, then swollen glands and twitches, all in the space of 1.5 weeks. Now I have intermittently buzzing feet, plus lots of other BFS symptoms. Lying in bed is when I notice those buzzing/vibrating feet the most. I can actually feel an on/off sensation, like there's a low voltage applied to my feet for a second, alternating with another second's rest.

I can't answer your question as to whether this is unique to BFS, but I can say it sure is COMMON to BFS.

I've had the buzzing feet (left foot) on and off for many years now. It came long before the twitching, I forgot to ask my neuro about it as well, but I have never read anywhere that it is asociated with ALS. Actually, I think it's a good sign if you have it.

The buzzing started in my inner ankles and feet, was pretty steady for a while and then calmed down quite a bit while other things picked up. I've also read that buzzing is sensory symptom and not a neg. symptom for the *** disease.
