Upping Life Insurance: Am I a Risk?

I have been thinking about upping my life insurance lately. Not that I think the end is near, but the $600k policy I once thought would take care of my family is really only worth half what it was in 2000 due to inflation.
Is there anyone here that knows insurance and weather my undiagnosed condition would stop me from upgrading or getting a new policy? In other words, Am I a risk? Anyone here been told that they are a risk?

Thanks for any input
Doug

yup...I just went through this, but I live in Canada.
If there are any pending tests when you try to up your policy, they may put your application "on hold" for a year, pending results of the tests.
If you have any tests or appointments with specialists in the next 6 months, it kind of red-flags you. Did you know that there is a type of medical bureau, (similar to a credit bureau) that keeps track of your applicantions to insurance companys, and what the outcomes were of your applications? Here in Ontario, anyways. I did not know this, and I applied, about 4 months after having a slew of MRIs and emgs. They sent me a letter telling me they would reevalutate in a year.
I am covered under my husband's work, and I do pay for mortgage insurance, but we wanted to get rid of that and get some better term insurance, for a better price. And work insurance is only as good as how long you are employed. My husband works in a truck assembly plant, and he was laid off once. Screwed up all of the insurance, and we were much younger than.
Did you also know that say your mother had breast cancer...not you...your mother....That changes YOUR medical bureau score? You go from a A-1 rating to something lower....that sucks!
My advice is wait til all pending tests are done and everything is deemed Okay.
No need to get red-flagged.

Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't want to call and ask my agent because I am afraid she would put me on some kind of black list. After all, it is her job to try and NOT pay out on claims. I hope I can get some clean results and to get an all clear from all this testing. At any rate, I can wait a year and apply. I never gave a crap about leaving anything until I bacame a parent. I just want what I leave to be more than enough to do something wonderful.
Thanks again

Thank you for your professionalism. I will take your advisment about calling her(my agent) . I suppose if anything she will make a little bling bling off writing a policy.
I am surprised that this issue hasn't come up here before.
I will bring this post back up again when I get more information.
Thanks again... ;)
