Unexplained Symptoms Relate to BFS?

You may think this is totally unrelated to BFS but just hear me out.

Those of you who've read my old posts will know that I've had twitching, pins and needles, buzzing, floaters, tinnitus, etc, for the last year now. It all started with an eye twitch (left eye). Apart from those I've had a number of yeast related ailments and taking Threelac has not only helped eliminate those but has also reduced the "nerve" related symptoms to the point where I only have a few twitches per day, and buzzing comes and goes but not as frequently. Still had tinnitus and floaters, plus I'd still get pins and needles easily.

My neuro exam was unrelarkable and I was diagnosed with benign fasciculations.

Don't worry... I'll get to the point... About two months ago I had this toothache from h*ll!!! Man! I have never been in SO MUCH pain! My visit to the dentist not only revealed abscess on the tooth that was painful (left bottom side of my face), but also the fact that the tooth next to it, which was root canal treated years ago, had a big lesion (infection) on the bone underneath it. I was told that this infection may have been there for a long time as the first treatment wasn't done properly.

Anyway, I got the painful tooth root canal treated (you are guessing by now that I have cr*p teeth but I assure you this is despite all the flossing and brushing I do), and an appointment to see an endodontist to re-treat the other tooth.

Well I had that appointment a week ago. When the endodontist drilled into that tooth I could smell all the puss coming out (apologies for being so graphic). She cleaned it out, and put temporary medicine in to try and heal it. She also said that if it doesn't heal I may need some oral surgery on it.

I forgot to mention that in the last 6 months my white blood cell count has been somewhat low (3. and doctors seem to think it's due to this infection that my body was trying to fight.

Well... Over the last week I've noticed some drastic changes. No twitching whatsoever! No buzzing whatsoever! I can hear SILENCE! In the last 6 months I had this constant hum in my head... I sort of got used to it... but now... now I can enjoy the bliss of silence in my head! I still get pins and needles occassionally but now I can actually sit on my legs for a while before it happens.

I don't know... of course it hasn't been very long and it could be totally unrelated. But here's a question for you - do you think it could be possible that bacteria in my tooth started spreading to other parts of my body and affecting my nerves, immune system, etc?

I did read somewhere that badly infected teeth can cause death. So I don't know... I'd be interested to hear from the medical people "in the house".

Hi Tui. I've been through a very similar experience. I had a root canal over 15 years ago and it went bad. Come to find out that the dentist missed a third canal that was attached to the tooth. Anyway, I went through a re-root canal....big mistake, waste of time, and waste of money! My tooth was so infected....down to the bone. It was gross and I was totally embarassed. It wasn't my fault, but still embarassing. I too brush like I should and floss daily. I blame my mom and dad for my dental problems....LOL.
I since had that tooth pulled. I still have all my symptoms, but I wonder if there could be a connection. This all happenend around the same time of my symptoms.
I know that crap is poison. I had it for a long time. Very interesting!

Amy - thanks for your reply. That's very interesting!!! Now I'm thinking - what if my re-treatment is a big waste of time and money too! The infection is clearly there, probably on the bone, and this is why the endodontist said that I may need surgery - they may need to cut out part of the root from the other side. It would so totally annoy me if I had to end up pulling this tooth out, after all that trouble.

Interesting though is that my symptoms have almost disappeared. As I said, it may be totally unrelated but as you say - it's poison in our bodies that must be doing some damage!

I know what you mean. It was a total waste for me. Maybe yours will work out! Years ago when I had a bad tooth, that would not show up bad on an X ray, I was so sick. I lost like 15 pounds, which I could not afford to lose. Finally the absess showed up (once my face swelled). My doctor explained that every time I would chew on that tooth, it would send the poison through my body, therefore making me nausiated. It was a mess!
