Well, it has been a long time since I posted here (2 +) years.......
Almost three years ago I experianced my first "twitch". First one thigh, then the other and within a month I had twicthed in every possible place I could mention and even some I shouldn't..
And like most here I typed "Muscle Twitching" into a search engine and guess what popped up......Well for the next year + I lived in almost constant fear...
Here is what I have learned from this board, from other boards, from two neuro-muscular specialist....... and from my crazy self.
Twitching without measurable weakness is NEVER als..
HOt spots may come and go and come again...
A clean EMG is a clean EMG...
Tongues twitch...
CRamping with twitches, cramping with out twitches, twitches with cramping, twitches without cramping...all BFS...
Buzzing, vibrating, sticks and pricks....all BFS
A person can make their calf muscles sore and weak from walking all over the place on their heals..
All tongues have groves(teeth impressions) on them..some more than other.....
One should NOT look in the mirror to check for impressions while driving down the highway....
I still twitch 24/7...Calves are the worst..I wake up with my calves cramping 3-4 nights per week. I buzz and vibrate. Tongue groves still there. BUt I am alive..Hell three years ago I was sure I would be gone or pretty close to it by now. Since I firsted started twiching I have become a grandmother, traveled with my husband ( Africe, Europe, Asia), shown my art numerous time( I am hanging in three galleries now), helped my daughter start planning for her wedding, laughed , cried and lived..
To all those who have recently begun this crazy BFS journey..believe your doctor...live your life....smile and what ever you do..don't check your tongue driving down the highway( I smashed the hell out of my volvo doing so)
Peace to you all, Leah
