Twitchy Left Hand Fingers: ALS Fear?

Two fingers on my left hand look to me like they have shifted, one more inwards the other more outwards. These are the exact same fingers that twitch the most bringing up the als fears of symptoms starting in one hand only. To make it worse, it 'seems' like these two fingers are weaker than the same two fingers on my other hand although I am right- handed so (I think) have more strength in the right hand to begin with. I can still do things with them but they 'seem' weaker. I don't imagine anyone can really console me except to relate maybe? I am noticing these twitching 'weaker?' finger symptoms one month since the clear neuro apt but only 3 months into this so it is at the very scary stage of 'new symptoms' developing.

Val,

You can be consoled. Stop looking at your hands and focusing on your body. You do not have als. There is no way a neurologist would miss it especially with an emg. Your battle is not with a disease but with your mind. Try to focus intently on others or on your work or some activity. In my humble opinion here is the key to feeling a lot better:

Accept the remote remote remote remote (2 to 999 power) that you have als or maybe clogging arteries or a tumor or a brain lesion forming. Will worrying about it make it any better? Will frantically searching the internet for information cure it? Our lives are out of control. For me, this is the realization that I was always in God's love and care. I will eventually die and it could be horrible. Same for you. In the end though we will not control it. Do you sit up at night focusing on traffic patterns in your local area? There is a chance you will be in a car accident and be paralyzed. But the probability is small - but greater than the probability that you have als.

BFS starts with twitching and it ends when our lives our no longer consumed by it. I still have tough days but it seems in my acceptance of the above I have found the control I was looking for knowing that I never had control to begin with.
