Hello Twitching friends!!! Like so many of my other posts Ill try to video it because its easier to show than describe sometimes. Just wondering if anybody else ever gets this kinda twich/tremor in ther hand with there thumb. Im sorry the video is kinda hard to see the twitch its kinda a small fine twitch(it does it early in the video only). Im still battling the parkinson's fears so every little new twitch I get...bam!! all I can think of great this is excatly how Michael J Fox started with a little finger twitch. The twitch started this morning and what worries me is with my other twitchs I could see the muscle in my forearm/palm moving causing the thumb to move....this time I cant see the twitch where ever it is in my thumb area is causing my thumb to make the fine movement it is in the video. I can feel it in the pam/top part of my thumb. If I relax my arm by my side and let my hand hang i can see the thumb moving a little...is this a true resting tremor?? it moves also when I lay my hand on the table the thumb moves... Any input like always would be great...its always comforting and reassuring when others have simlar or the same stories. Thanks again for reading, Andrew

The quality of your video made it difficult to see the twitching, but thumb twitching is really common around here. Yours didn't even move your thumb, which some of the more powerful "thumper" twitches can. No way it's early Parkinson's. I wish Dr. Google would stop telling people about that MJF finger thing. There is a HUGE difference between a fascic or a jerk that moves a limb and the very specific sort of tremor that is brought about by Parkinson's. And frankly, BFS can cause tremor, too, but the underlying pathophysiology is obviously different. No worries. Yours is obviously a good-old garden variety BFS twitch. Blessings, Sue

Hi, Andrew, I know this is an old post, but I thought I would offer some reassurance. My friend's father was diagnosed with Parkinson's several years ago. My friend told me that months before the doctors diagnosed him she knew he had Parkinson's -- because his handwriting changed. It became very cramped and small. I think it's important to remember that PD is a movement disorder -- and you haven't mentioned anything about your gait changing -- or the way you write. Also, my aunt was recently diagnosed at 78 and she has no tremor but she's very, very slow these days, and her voice has become very quiet. I could hardly hear her when I visited her last. We get so fixated on our twitches and tremors that we forget the bigger picture. I'm 46 and my neuro told me I'm too young to have PD -- you are definitely too young to be worrying about this. I hope this helps! Michele
