Twitching While At Rest: Normal or ALS?

Hi,I notice that most fo you here have twitches while your muscles are at rest. Also in the BFS defenition I read that when muscles are used the twitches go away.In my case when I'm standing or driving I still feel twitches in my knees and crawling (twitching?) stuff in my legs. Is this normal or does this sounds like ALS?Thank youDieter

dieter, i think this is pretty normal.....driving by car or standing is not really a big activity.....my twitches also sometimes show up while i am standing.....but i don't feel them when i do my 6-miles-jogging....

When you slightly flex a muscle you may be experiences contraction fasiculations, which are totally normal. When driving the twitching in my legs drives me nuts. Totally normal for BFS. I will say, if a muscle is twitching, and I flex is real hard, it will always stop, although it will some times crap up.

Mine twitch when I'm driving - especially in my calves. I reassure myself by thinking about my calf twitching at it's worst - I can see so much movement. It's like an alien inside my leg! This makes me realise that ther must be loads of different little muscles in there. Maybe the ones which twitch when we drive are not the ones in use. When I lift my foot to my knee, my calf muscles flex - when I move my fingers, my forearm muscles move. I don't know enough about it but this condition has made me realise that the muscle governing a movement is not always in the moving part! Maybe the twitching muscles are at rest! I may be talking nonsense but it helps!
