Twitching Under Pinky Finger - Any Input?

After almost 9 months of twitching, I got a twitch under my pinky finger which moved the entire finger. This went on for about an hour. Has anyone had this before. I was doing really good with my anxiety and this is setting me back. I just don't know where it stops. Any input would be appreciated. ~Leslie

Hi LeslieI am sorry to hear you are having a flare up of your anxiety, triggered by this new symptom. I have noticed that this happens to me too whenever some new combination of symptoms appears. Funnily enough, I don't feel too freaked when I see my finger being moved by a twitch - this tells me that the muscle is strong and not wasting. I do get intermittent twitching of the muscle between my thumb and index finger and this does scare me because it seems like a different kind of twitch from all the others - the twitching is finer, more worm-like and does not move the finger, and unlike my other twitches it stays when the muscle is tensed. For some reason, I equate these qualities with something scary. I guess this just goes to show that we each have our own trigger poitns for anxiety. Anyway, the main reaon for this post was to say that I can certainly empathise with your anxiety and that I really dount that your current symptoms are of any concern whatsoever. Kind regardsSimon

Leslie -You already know this, but totally BFS normal. Ever changing with no rhyme or reason. :D) :D) A twitch is a twitch is a twich is a twitch!**hugs**~*~Amy~*~

My toes will do this occasionally, especially when I am having a really high anxiety day. It's not as if I can feel the twitch so much in this case, but I will see all of my toes move slowly back and forth from side to side for a little bit and then stop.I've read that twitches that are strong enough to move joints/toes/fingers are usually benign in nature. ALS twitches are not typically strong enough to move joints and digits.

Twitchy fingers and toes all the time. My right middle finger is almost constant.I get worried about facial muscle twitches because those can be seen. :( There's gotta be something causing all this twitchy madness....

It seems many, including me had the worst of th twitching in the hands. Partly, we think about Parkinsons or worst which only cause us to obcess about our hands, which makes the twitching seem even worse than it really is.

I too have twitching in my hands, mine mainly started in my hands, in fact my hot spot is one that moves my index finger. It does stop when I hold my hand in a certain position, similar to when holding a pen, I used to think it persisted when my hand was clenched but I came to realise it was a different muscle that was twitching and when I finally found the right one I could stop it :)

the twitching in the hand or fingers is very scary, i've had bfs for over nine years and only recently developed twitching between thumb and forefinger, causes thumb to twitch and sometimes tremor, fortunately it has not done so for about a week now. i can totally relate, the hand thing just seems to be nastier than all the other twitches. i got scared, went back to the neurologist, ( whom i had not seen in 9 years ) he told me it was nothing. But i still became scared and obcessed. That started in late August and only recently has my anxiety subsided ( albeit, not altogether ) but the thumb twitching has lessened as well, both in frequency and intensity. Try to relax, you'll be fine. Easier said then done, i know. Time will be your healer. because once you realize that you're o.k. after time everything will fall in place. i had every twitch except the hand area for nine years and then this new symptom and new anxiety. but i feel i'm coping much better this time around. relax you'll be fine.oldschool
