Twitching, Pain and Swallowing Issues

Hello,Had an appointment today with Neurologist. Quick background on me........I have had an EMG on my left leg and left arm that was normal about a week ago. I have been twitching and in pain for about a month or so and also have had trouble with my swallowing and tongue recently. Anyway, the doc said that my clinical or whatever exam was normal. I specifically ask him about "you know what" and about "b***** you know what", he said all indications do not point there........I believe were his exact words, I think. So, he took some blood and will see me in 3 weeks. He was very thorough and even stepped out to his office to, as he put it "look at your history and all the tests that have been run and to think about what is the best course to take". He wrote on my sheet "Myclonus". He checked on my order for blood some things like B12 and othe stuff I can't remember. Just an update. Thoughts?? He also, said to calm down and he would get to the bottom of the situation if it was truly a medical condition. I am still scared, just because of my throat and tongue being so screwy. He did look at my tongue and said it looked normal. He gave me 6 Zanax so I could sleep a little better. I am starting feel a tiny bit better about this situation, but like alot of my fellow posters the little man in my head is a pit bull and keeps me in doubt. Thanks for all the support these past few weeks.........you know when you go to the doctor and have all those thousands of thoughts and questions to ask. You always walk out of there and think.......What in the hell just happened??????? Am I OK?I forget to tell him this symptom and that was the most important part of the puzzle. That is how I feel to an extent. Mike

ditto on all that. At one point, my second neurologist said" you have something...we don't know what it is...but its benign".Surprised me. Basically I think BFS ids a catch all phrase....kind of like SIDS is a catch all fo babies. You are normal to be anxious. I am seven months in and I am still really anxious. Glad you visit went well!

I totally relate as well. This all started for me (tongue included which made me feel for sure I had something serious) in July 08. Here I still am with all the symptoms bodywide including tongue. No worse than when it started and maybe even better. I saw many, many neuros and had every test imaginable (only a slight exaggeration) and I am very happy to be a mystery. There really are lots of physical issues (especially neurological ones) that can be managed and are not fully understood stood. You are probably just one of us.Krackersones
