Twitching Left Hand Fingers

Hello everyone,Here go the finger twitching woes again - yesterday I posted a question about finger hyperexcitability but today I have another problem with my fingers. The fingers on my left hand are twitching like crazy on their own - mostly the left pinky finger. My pinky just literally won't stop today. It will twitch and twitch and then it may stop for 5 - 10 seconds. Then it keeps on going. It "jumps" and "curls" inward toward the palm of my hand quickly and then back out again. There have been a few times today where it stopped for a little while, maybe 10 minutes or so, but it is generally non-stop today and I've never had this before in my finger twitching experiences - not this constant. It's like a 24/7 twitch now. My left ring finger is also twitching and so is my left index finger but they are more like what I've been used to in the past, just once every now and again - nowhere near as constant and continual like the pinky. At times, I can feel something in my left forearm twitching causing some of the finger twitching but not always. It seems like the pinky just twitches on its own without anything happening in my arm most of the time.Has anyone had a non-stop twitch in their finger(s) like this? I need some reassurance really badly on this one - it is really freaking me out. Thanks so much,God Bless, Mark

Hi Mark, I have not experienced the finger twitches like that perhaps...however..If you just glance back through people's post on here you will see A LOT of people that have. The hands, feet, and calves are common hotspots!!! Just take a few minutes and look through posts..You will see people with all different kinds of hotspots hon. I promise. Hand being probably one of the TOPS.. (well the fingers). Then FEET and calves. !!! ;)

Mark, Don't worry, I get them to my left thumb and index finger, it is llike 3 quick twitches, relaxes and again. I had it for 3 days once, drove me insane. It also felt like the twitch was coming up higher from my wrist. It is one of the most annoying and scariest twitches for me. But, we must learn to look at twitches as "just twitches" I know it is hard.Terri

Thanks so much for your replies. Terri, you say "3 quick twitches, relaxes and then starts again". This was continuous all day long for 3 days? How long were the "breaks" in between or were there many breaks at all? My pinky finger is starting to look like PD today - I mean, it hardly stops at all. I was just watching it now and it goes for like 12 twitches (not huge twitches but little "jumps") in a row, then stops and starts up again a few seconds later. If I flex my pinky straight out and hold it tight, it won't do it but if I lay my hand flat on the table in a relaxed position, it will still twitch. It does it the most when I hold my palm upward and leave my fingers in a curled (relaxed) position... Thanks and God Bless,Mark

Yep, my only stopped for a few seconds in between the clusters of twitches. It sounds just like mine. I didn't think mine would ever stopped and it just did one day. Now, I worry when is it going to come back, as I am sure it will. You just have to keep your mind in focus, and believe it is just a twitch and nothing more sinister. The whole time mine was twitching, I didn't notice any strength loss. But, when it finally stopped my hand and wrist felt tired.Terri

Thanks Terri - yours went on for a long time by the sounds of it. I had a better day today where the fingers on my left hand barely twitched at all. Yesterday, they wouldn't stop and I thought I was in for it. Like you, I worry when it will come back now. My right hand is still hyperexcitable as can be - the slightest bit of exertion makes the right pinky and right ring finger go into a frenzy for 30 seconds, or maybe a minute or so and then they stop. Unlike you though, I do feel a bit of strength loss in the right hand as a result. And my right hand tires very easily. Thanks again for answering me - I sure appreciate it.God Bless, Mark

Thanks Sharon - I've been getting lots of fasics in my forearms that trigger some pretty harsh finger movements but most of the time, my fingers just move on their own without the fasics (especially on exertion of the hand as I noted in a previous post). I've seen it both ways a lot on this forum in the past - some of us just get the finger twitches alone and some of us get the fasics in the arm that trigger them. I get them in the thumb pad a lot, too. I'm trying not to worry - today was a bit better once again so I hope it is just a passing phase. Thanks so much for replying,God Bless, Mark
