Twitching in Thighs and Calves?

Does anyone twitch in various places in the thigh i.e. not necessarily at the same time but many different places at different times (and sometimes at the same places) ?

I know people seem to get this type in their calves (as well as posts from people from Neurology texts stating about it to happen in the calves) but how about other parts of the limb ?

Very Anxious. Please reply if it happens to you.

sometimes my thighs are worse than my calves...just depends on the day. The thigh twitches annoy me more than the calves, which I had gotten used to.

Yes, often, most twitches are in thighs. They move around from front to back, high to low, around knees. Once my thight twitched for two weeks, everytime I braked in my car. Not just a little twitch either. It was crazy!

I usually have the roaming twitches where they're hard to "catch". And sometimes in the same spot sometimes all over. For the past few days I have them down the left side of my body. From my left eye to my foot but maily in my thigh and calf. It always amazes me how wierd BFS is.

I have thigh twitching too. All over the muscles from front to back. I don't think it means anything. My new theory is that none of us have als. The symptoms, after having read a real case study, are very very serious. It's not like some subtle deal where you have to measure body parts. The story I read the guy (tom watson's caddy) had enormous muscle wasting in the hand described as something like a crater. This in just 5 months plus he had lost a lot of weight.

Well each case of *** has a different progression so one case could be very fast and others slow.

The point is that they say that if it twitches in the same spot of the muscle then it is benign.

Well, thigh has different muscles so it would be difficult for a non muscle expert to be sure if the twitching in different places in the thigh means that some of the thigh muscles are twitching in more than one place or not. However, if it twitches in enough number of places in the front or back of the thigh then it is most likely happening in more than one place in the same muscle.

For eg. on a lighter note, I think I read in one the posts that someone marked it with pen the places they twitched and the whole calf was full of pen marks ...

Actually, I am not sure about any of this anymore. My neuro said the same thing to me that if a muscle twitches in one spot then this is usually a benign case. I asked him if every twitch had to be multiple and in the same spot and he said no.

Ginny posted some stuff though about muscle twitching in the calves that look malignant but are benign. Many of the twitchers here get individual twitches all over their bodies and are still alive. Not sure that one can tell a problem from the types of twitches.

You are right about the progression of als but, that admitted, it is really really unlikely for a person to start twitching first and then develop weakness and the like. The odds are probably greater of being hit by a train.

To get back to the topic i twitch also in the thighs. Today for example was a bad thigh twitching day. However my fasics in the feet are now almost constant there -every day- and i have get used to them.

Thigh twitches however i get every time i exercise. So the are not an every day phenomena :D) . Therefor they are more anoying.
