Twitching in Thenar Muscle: Worried?

Has anyone ever had a consistent twitch in the thenar muscle of their hand. (This is the big muscle below the thumb). Mine has been twitching on and off for over a week now. Starting to worry me a little.

Do a search here for thenar, and you will see MANY of us have, myself included. In fact I just answered a post asking this same q yesterday or Thursday. It's a common spot and mine twitched pretty nonstop for about two months this past summer. It will stop for you too eventually, and it's very very common in bfs.

Yup, mine does it all the time. In fact I can invoke it to happen if I lie on my right side in bed. No idea why it's only my right. Also 1st dorsal interosseus does the same, only more frequently.

Mine has been twitching for 3 and a half weeks. Sometimes it will stop for most of the day and then there are times when it twitches like crazy all day. Sometimes it barely twitches and sometimes it is big thumpers all the time. It has worried me for some time now.

Mine went for almost two months, and now is down to an occasional twitch. Awful. Don't let it get to you. Seriously, search on thenar or thumb in the search feature here and you'll be reading 1000+ posts. You are so not alone.

I'm stalking the boards today because my thumb twitch is driving me insane and after having it for almost 2 weeks now I am starting to worry. Reading this makes me feel better. Mine is really fine sometimes, barely noticeable. Then other times the whole thumb moves in a rhythmic fashion. Then I start over thinking and obsessing and the downward spiral starts. Oi vey! I'm glad to hear that it's not been anything insidious for other people. Maybe now I can relax a little.
