Twitching in Calves: Causes?

Hello,
I have been having frequent twitching in both calves for the last few weeks but have noticed the last few days the my left calf (which has always twitched more) feels like there's constantly activity, it's hard to describe but it doesn't feel like the typical twitch, just constant movement deep inside. I also noticed that it seems to get very stiff, almost crampy. Is it possible that I am concentrating too hard and this could be my anxiety? Also, is it normal to have one calf slightly larger than the other? It seems that my left, most affected calf is just slightly smaller than the other. Does anyone have similar symptoms? I have had twitches for one year now and no weakness.
Thanks in advance, Brandi

What I have noticed with myself is that when I am dwelling on something (right now I'm dwelling on the twitching in my forearm), that I tend to notice EVERYTHING in my body. I become way more aware of things that I probably would never notice if I wasn't anxious at that time. SO, I am certain you are feeling this because you are way too aware right now of all the different things going on in your body.

I think if I studied real hard and focused on my calf right now, I may be able to feel what you are feeling, but I'm not focusing on that, so I just ignore anything that might seem "wierd."

Does that make sense?

:) It's normal for BFS Brandi - I've had the twitches for pushing 9 years, I too had a period of constant calf twitching & sort of 'deep inside' movement. It was at that time I noticed that my left calf is smaller than my right, once you've noticed you can't stop looking etc !!
Right now I've got general twitching just about everywhere, but my current hot spot is my left thumb.
ps - I've always been very fit, work out frequently etc, so the calf difference must have always been there - you just don't notice until something makes you.

I have had this for around 9 months now. Have twitched for 10 years in calves and suddenly it flared up as you describe. Constant activity in both calves, worse on left. I liken it to a hamster running on a wheel inside my calves. I feel certain that all this extra activity causes the crampy feelings.

BTW, it is very normal to have differences in limb size.

I have been having a cramping or pulling feeling in my calves, more so in the left over the past couple of days. Of course twitching also in the calves. Let's try to keep this in perspective and remember this is just another symptom. :D)
