Twitching in Both Calves - Concerned

HI to everyone,
Just wondering, because I have been reading some post and starting to get scared . When some of you refer to your twitching jumping around
like I have ,dose it mean anything different if they stay in both calves all
the time and not just one spot in the calves all over the calves in different
spots? Because this is how mine are .I also get random ones everywhere
else and sometimes in my arms they hit in different spots then there gone.
I also get buzzing in the bottom of my feet everyday. I am still worried
because I had my EMG when I was only six weeks into my twitching and
it didnt show any fasiculations none and Iam wondering if that means they
could have missed something. But I think they hit every muscle on my right side. I know I am adding fuel to my fire because I am worrying all
the time but I cant stop it. I do have to say after asking this getting myself
all woked up my twiching in my calves has been way down in the last week but I know there coming back because I just mentioned it. I am sorry for asking all these questions but I have been wondering if this is how it is for others?

Thank You guys for listening . ;)

Hi Diana,

An emg can not be done too early, if you are experiencing fasciculations due to als then by the time you are twitching you would also show other sign on the emg. As for why they didn't show up on the emg? Lots of folks here have had their emg not show fasciculations. Others, like me, have shown fasciculations. I think maybe because you actually have to be twitching at that moment in order for it to show? This is totally a guess on my part, maybe someone else can shed more light. My twitches also sound just like yours, all different parts of my calves all the time. My feet also get the buzzy, tickly feeling. Is tickly a word? Anyway, I'm sure you know what I mean!

Wecome to the site.

My twitches are exactly the same. Started mid-April, had EMG in mid June. My neuro told me that I did not have to show fascics on the EMG for it to pick up anything sinister if there was anything to be found. She even went on to say that most people with *** don't even feel them, but then they show up on the EMG, along with other indicators (as you will read several times in this forum, it is all about the company they keep). The EMG would pick something up whether you were actually experiencing the fasciculations/twitches at the time or not if there was something wrong. It's hard for me even to take my own advice, but try and relax and rest-assured that you had a clean exam!! :D) I always feel a bit strange saying this to people because I am sure if we had our choice, this is not a forum we would like to be part of (with all it's symptoms I mean - the people are absolutely wonderful, and that is the best part, sharing experiences, getting advice and just trying to stay sane sometimes), but WELCOME!!!
