Hello all,This night when I woke up I felt my whole body shaking inside, really odd. Does anyone reognize this? Is this part of BFS? I'm now twitching for 6.5 months but no real weakness as I can tell.Best regardsBart

Bart,I get this all time. The only symptoms I experience are the internal buzzing/vibration/shaking feeling. The buzzing & vibrating sensation is in my legs. The internal shaking is in my arms. Mostly the left. I also have some preceived weakness there as well. At times my arm will visibly shake slightly. Docs are not concerned. I have had all the tests and there all negative. However, the concerns of ALS are still in the back of my mind. Can't seem to get past it yet.CDC

Hi CDC,Thanks for your answer. I'm buzzing etc too. Really frustrating. I also can't get over the 'non ALS' diagnose, but I'm now twitching over 6 months...should have been clear says everybody so why am I still worrying? How long are you having the twitches and why do you think you are still struggeling with it?Bart

Bart,This condition started for me in late August of 2007. I am going on 8 months. I did not start out with twitching. I started with pins & needles and a bunch of other weird feelings/sensations. About 5-6 weeks into it I began minor twitching and the buzzing/vibrating feelings. The internal shaking started about 7 weeks into for me. We have both been cleared by docs and time I guess. I think I still struggle because I am mentally weak. Also, becuase I still experience these symptoms everyday. It is beyond frustrating. I have been blessed with great health my entire life. This is a new challenge for me and I am still trying to beat it mentally. I am only 36, my wife and I just celebrated the birth of our first child a few months ago. Life is just beginning for me and the thought of ALS scares the heck out me.CDC

Hi CDC I know what you mean, I'm only 29. Always in good health but this gets me upset. If it all just would go away we would feel a lot better. The weird thing is, everybody here is comforting one another and is convinced that the other doesn't have it. But when it comes to ourselves we seem to think that we are just this exceptional case. That everybody is fine except (me). With me it started with huge pain in the legs the 3th August 2007 . 20th October '07 I started twitching. 12th '07 December the buzzing etc... I hope time will bring me back in my place. Sometimes I do very well, but other days I'm panicing again.BArt

Bart,Our progression is similiar. On a positive note, I have notice that I don't buzz /vibrate as much. It used to be almost constant now there seems to times where it seems to be non existent. I agree with you regarding your observation that a lot of us are reassuring and insecure at the same time.Have you noticed any improvements or slow down in symptoms? Do you have any preceived weakness?CDC

In some places the buzzing/vibr has stopped (like behind knees, in legs) but I still got them in my feet and chest. Also the pain in my legs is reduced. And yes I have perceived weakness, mostly arms/ hands. It always freak out on it...like 'now it has started'. But then a week or two later it's gone and then a couple of weeks later it's back. Psycologist says to get my mind of the sensations but it's easy for her to say if you feel it constantly! best regardsBart

Bart, my symptoms and progression are identical to yours, same as cdc, I was told by a neurologist it's benign and he doesn't know what's causing it but suggested a viral trigger.

hi,yeah it's awful isn't it. i have had it on rare occassions, it's like an internal tremor[buzzing] from head to toe. all i can tell you is that i've had it for 8 years in june and im very well except for bfs symptoms. i always seem to awake lying on my back when i get it. weird  regardssharon

Hi all, I have had the internal shaking too...mostly in my feet, but i have also had it in my knees and in my upper arm. It comes and goes, unlike the twitching. ugh.Linda

I would just like to add that I have had this also. It's weird that when people mention that buzzing thing, alot of times they seem to mention it being behind their knees, because this is where I've had it mostly. I haven't had that in a while, though. It really stayed around for quite a while, but now it's gone. I get the internal shaking thing alot, tho. It's really hard to describe, but lately I find that I have it in my legs, and can sort of feel it as I'm walking, like a shakiness in my upper legs, especially after I've walked a bit. Today I went to the track and walked about a mile with my daughter, and I had the shaky feeling for a while after that. Also, one thing that drives me crazy is this shaky feeling that I get in the back of my neck, going down my back, and I really feel that when I'm laying in bed on my side watching tv. It's funny, tho, when I think way back when I was in my 20's, I remember always getting shaky muscles when I would exercise. Like, when I would go and play tennis, I would come home and my arm would shake pretty badly if I put it in a certain position. I still get that to some degree. I think it must be all part of this fun BFS ride~Val

ditto here with the shaky muscles after (and sometimes during exercise). Years ago when my friends & I would work out in the gym, we would laugh as we drove home because we could barely shift our cars b/c of shaky arms from exercising! Those were my pre-worry days! Denie
