Hi all, I've been twitching for 18.5 monhts, mostly calves (left one 24/7), but as I mentioned before I twitch more and more randomly. Now my arms and back seems to twitch every 10 seconds. Is there someone who twitches as much as me? It's really annoying and scary!Bart

Bart,We all twitch. Sometimes a ton... so much so that it is amazing that we don't actually take flight. Sometimes only on 1 spot or a few specific spots or only in a certain region like legs and calves. Sometimes right sided sometimes left sometimes both. Then for no apparent region it switches up on us and moves to a totally different place. And it sucks. Plain and simple. Sometimes it is only twitching and sometimes we get all the other fabulous little nuances like tingling and buzzing and achey and weak, that make this such a "special" condition  Either way my dear, after EMGs, excellent exams and 18.5 months (but who is counting ;) ) I would say that you are fine and don't worry about timing them or even worse yet trying to count them.Smooches, Kit

I get a lot of twitching in my arms and torso (back, sides etc). There is no doubt that whatever this is has impacted my whole body. When it first hit me, I had symptoms in my legs, arms, face, tongue, back, stomach, neck all within two weeks or so. I too wonder how many people on here really have this bodywide daily phenomenon. I also feel a vibration going through my body when I lie down or rest watching tv. My nerves are clearly hyperactive. I also have the tingling all over which is not subtle. I feel good about the tingling because it reminds me that my sensory nerves are as if not more affected than my motor nerves, which points away from what we fear.Krackersones

Yes Bart I have had that. I had it for quite awhile and they were like twinkling lights on a Christmas tree. Everywhere and not much break in between.Smooches,Kit

When I first started twitching (almost 2 months ago), it started on my side. It then moved to my legs. It then went all over my body non stop. Now it is in my legs the most. I also get twitching in my chin. Twitches also pop up randomly in my arms and back. Some days I only have a few, other days it is non stop meaning whenever I am not moving my legs they are firing one twitch after another. I am currently taking Lexapro for the anxiety. Since I have had a clean EMG and normal neuro exam I feel better but the fear still gets to me. You have to take it one day at a time and just try to live. The one thing my neurologist told me was to stop reading the internet and enjoy life. That is what I intend to do and you should also. Remember, you are not alone. We are all in the same boat as you.

It is difficult to not read stuff. I read stuff to find a possible treatment, medication, or other method of symptom relief and for some understanding of why and how often this phenomenon happens. I don't read to learn that I could have something bad. I know that I could already. Any of us on this planet could. I also don't read to find something that rules out all bad things because that is impossible too. I stay away from something that just documents that bad stuff happens. I know that already. I can't wish that away. I try every day to focus and appreciate the health that I do have. I also try to focus on the hope that have from what I've learned here and elsewhere which is that symptoms like ours are usually benign or at least manageable even if they are strange and rare.Krackersones
