Twitching for 1 Month - Help?

Ruin

Hi. I've had various twitching for about 1 month and went to see neurologist about 3 weeks ago and he said i'm stressed and axiety and no ALS (he didn't do an EMG b/c he said "you DON'T have ALS") ... anyway, he prescribed me some Buspar to take and come back in 5 weeks.

Since then I've been put on antiobiotics (Biaxin) about 1 week ago (from Lyme Disease) and since I started the Biaxin my twitching has gone up 50 fold -> I mean I am twitching everywhere all over my body all day long (calfs, legs, arms, neck some back) mostly in legs and some in arms. I have also started getting the slight "jerks".

Does antiobiotics INCREASE twitching? I am getting worried again that maybe I do have ALS as my left leg feels weak lately. My dr told me lyme can cause twitching but most of the stuff I've read on lyme doesn't highlight this. Any thoughts VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. And thank you for this forum ... it's helped me keep sane.

I think there was a whole series of posts (like last year) discussing this, and there was a feeling that some antibiotics did increase twitching. I think BillBob was posting about this or looking into it. You can search on antibiotics.

Then again, I think my twitching really started increasing after the first month or two, so you never know. Feeling weak and being clinically weak are two different things. My arms felt so weak in the first few months when my hands and forearms were twitching away that even holding my cell phone to my ear made them feel tired. Yet, I could do pushups if I tried. Twitching flare ups and having muscles feel weak are a part of BFS, so don’t start doubting your neurologist! Don’t go down that road.
