Twitching Eye, Muscle Weakness?

My right upper eyelid has been twitching now for a week. It is driving me crazy? Have you guys ever had an eye twitch for that long. Also, my eyelid is sagging much more on my right eye than my left. You can visibly see more of my left eyelid than you can my right. Could this be muscle weakness?

That's interesting. None of the diseases we are most scared of here start with a sagging eyelid as far as I know. I have certainly had hotspots last for more than a week.

Nervousmommy,Has your neuro looked at myasthenia gravis as a possibility for you? This is a treatable condition so it should not send you into a panic. I have a strong recollection that dropping eyes are a symptom of the condition and fasciculations (even tongue) are seen in rare cases. If this hasn't been thoroughly ruled out, you should make sure it is.Krackersones

Jro...MG has been ruled out for me. It is the part of my eye that is between the crease and the eyebrow, not my actual eyelid closing down on my eye. The eyelid is a very annoying twitch to have. I hope it stops soon.

I always found it interesting that my twitching began with two weeks of a constant eye twitch. It was so annoying that I googled just "eye twitch" and was so reassured about how common it was. Little did I know a few weeks after the "eye twitch," all the other bodywide twitches hit. The eye twitch stopped and has never returned except for maybe a second or two. I sometimes wonder if the episodes are related but they must be since I never had an eye twitch before. It would be too coincidental to have my first constant eye twitch just randomly followed by over a year of bodywide twitching. I got on some benzos pretty soon after the bodywide stuff started so maybe they do a great job on the eye twitch given that the nerve is probably pretty small. Just guessing.I hope your eye twitch goes away soon.Krackersones
