Twitching: Common and Benign

Hi newtwitcher. I am a male your age, my twitching started in EXACTLY the same places as yours. I also have this fatigue from time to time, but it comes and goes which is good. I have seen a neuro and he says it's benign. He said twitching allover your body has nothing to do with *** or anything else nasty, especially without atrophy or true clinical weakness. If you can still play racquetball and are twitching, I would bet everything I own that you have BFS. As far as the soreness, hate to break it to you, but you're not getting any younger, age tends to wear the body down a bit, especially if you played a lot of sports like myself. I would suggest you see your GP and get some basic blood work such as magnesium levels and thyroid. Barring that you have benign fasciculations my friend, no idea what causes it or how long it will stay. Welcome to the boards.

Hi Paulzeee! Thanks for the reply. How long have you had BFS? Yeah the soreness thing probably comes with age...except it sometimes seems that I have the soreness without a lot of physical exertion? I will definitely make an appt. w/ my GP for some blood work. If it is a thyroid condition, I wonder what can be done about it? Medications? Have you tried taking magnesium or calcium? Thanks
