Twitching Calf: Normal or Not?

This weekend, I noticed some twitches in my left calf that I could see, but not feel. Is this normal? I found myself sitting for 30 minutes both yesterday and this afternoon, watching this occur. There were some twitches that I could feel, as well, but it seemed that the majority were not. This morning, I didn't observe any twitching in the calf.

This just in!!! It appears that I have them (the silent ones) in my right calf, too. Maybe not the same frequency as the left, but they are there.

Again, should I be worried? I searched this in the archives and saw posts that indicated that I should be concerned and some that indicated that I should have no reason for concern. Yes or no?

Thanks.

I get these to in my calves, some I feel , some I don't. 16 months and still going. I remember last year when all this started and I was sitting by pool and my wife said look at your leg. She saw a few blips of the muscle move, so I looked down and I saw it move but could not feel it. If you had a clean emg nothing to worry about. It's the most common place to twitch.

I have alot of twitches in my calves. Sometimes I can see them; mostly I don't. Everytime I can FEEL them. Calves twitching lasted over 21 months; since September 2004. For my own piece of mind I started exercise last year. Last month I have run over 3,5 miles at once 8x at least. Yesterday I have done same. This year I have 50. Now I can run 10 times more than 1-2 years before (before BFS started).

left and right calf twitching for 17 years now, since I was 15 years old!

My brother and father both have constantly twitching calfs. No ALS, no MS or any other abnormalities accompanying them.

I feel the big ones and dont really feel the small ones. My brother and father dont feel most (99.99999%) of theirs. For my brother and father it would be very, very, rare to feel any of them.

What are the conflicting reports? Perhaps I can sort them out.
