Twitching and Swallowing Problems?

I was looking at old posts and I saw something that said something to effect of twitching is harmless unless its in conjunction with___________. One of the things on the list was swallowing problems. My question is would there be a correlation between random twitches without weakness all over body that precede trouble swallowing? So, for example, twitching in leg (without weakness) + swallowing trouble. Is that the combo to be worried about. I feel that my swallowing thing is due to GERD, maybe...but not sure. Thanks Zak

hi- it is MY understanding that bulbar ( what it sounds like you are concerned with ) and twitches in your limbs would not show up as you describe. i think the bulbar issues ( the rarest form of als ) would develop first-- and you wouldnt have limb twitching too-- but people do have limbs affected first and then later in the disease develop bulbar symptoms- but you wouldnt have throat issues and limb issues developing at the same time-- hope this helps
