Twitching and Pain: BFS Normal?

I've been twitching for a little over two months in my calves mainly. In the last few days, they are getting much stronger in my left leg. This is starting to concern me a bit. I'm also starting to experience a little pain in that leg. Is that normal with BFS? I had an emg on monday and the dr. said i didn't have the big bad one we have all feared.

Gary,

It's entirely normal for bfs twitches to suddenly get worse in one area. This can last for weeks or months. You may also get burning or cramping pain. Eventually it settles down and new symptoms pop up somewhere else. That's what makes bfs such fun to have <irony>

I find it helpful to keep a mental note of when each new symptom appeared and when I start worrying about it, I can go back and look at all the other previously worrying symptoms which have settled down. I've used this for calf twitching, muscle pain, perceived weakness, tongue twitching, lip twitching etc. They have all pretty much settled down again. NOT the pattern of the three lettered word.

I agree. Your clean EMG is your ticket to hapiness. Try not to worry yourself over this stuff. Unfortunatly for some it gets worse before it gets better. But the less you stress over it the better you will be. Try and resume your normal activities, and try not to give those pesky twitches a second thought. Save yourself the torture! If you are having trouble overcoming your fears, seek help immediatly, don't let this eat at you. I wasted a good portion of a year freaking out. If I can offer any advice, it would be to work on your mental health, and your physical health will follow! I'm a year into this, and I am 99.9% twitch free now.

thanks everyone for the support...It means alot from people who have been through it. It's so easy for people that haven't to give advice, but it carries more weight from you veterans. I will do my best to relax, though I find it hard to do at times.
