my calfs twitch constantly for 2 months now so do my ankles and feet and they also cramp up. I wake up in morning and my middle toes hurt. I think I twitch in my sleep also..Hope this helps..Jenn

Calves and feet are the most common areas to twitch. Mine have been going non-stop for 16 months  - a year ago I was sure I was dead. Hmmm...still ticking along...or twitching along in this case

Thanks for your replies.

My twitching just hit its 7 week anniversary today. I think that it has gone down a LOT in most areas of my body (especially eye and hand), but the calf muscle on my right leg now is still in "hyper-mode". Also, it is slightly cramped and slightly numbish feeling in the foot. Calf has been like this almost 3 weeks.

With regards to ***, how long can the twitching go on before you can comfortably know that it must be something else causing it, more than likely BFS? For example someone like yourself, twitching for 16 months with absolutely no muscle loss would indictate to me that you have BFS or something less serious. From what I have understood if it were ***, twitching usually occurs during late stages of muscle twitching.

Thanks again for your replies.

Hi Veritech,

Happy 7 week anniversary - I share it with you!
I can totally understand your concern as we are both early twitchers.
As previous mailer commented - the sticky facts are valuable to read and I guess you have done so already, but get to the docs for their input.

I too have random twitches over my body - but my left calf up to my knee has been going more or less non stop for the last 6 weeks. Sometimes it's in hyperdrive - more than 100 twitches a minute! Anyway I had the luxury of 4 hours off yesterday from the twitching there. I had almost reached a point where I believed it would never stop twitching and then it did. But it's back today! :(
Keep us posted and take care,
Seldean

Mark,
We know you didn't mean to startle anyone, it is a question I think we ask ourselves every day even though we may not post it. Like I said it is part of the pain in the *** BFS messing with us....I will let everyone know as soon as I hear from the Dr. today.

Also I wanted to ask everyone another question. Does anyone having problems with wrists? If I hold my wrist a certain way it makes my hand shake and my thumb on left hand always moves but only when I use it. Ex. If I am holding a paper and I press down a certain way the muscle and thumb starts to wiggle back and forth or if I bend my thumn towards the palm of hand (inward) my hand will shake like my wrist is weak or something, hard to explain. Is this normal for BFS?....Jenn

Hi Jenn,
I get the wrist thing, too. I've always had that, even before bfs. Or maybe I've just had bfs for a much longer time than I originally thought, lol.

I think we just tend to notice certain things more obviously when we are examining our bodies and wondering about every little thing.

No worries, this sounds normal.

Blessings,
Sue

It is like when I smoke a cig., yes I smoke and I know I have to quit a little hard right now with the anxiety from this, but when I smoke if I turn my wrist or forearm a certain way my cig. moves because my whole hand or fingers start moving. I dont know if it comes from my whole arm because it feels like it is always moving. Also when I bend over my body shakes, well my legs. THis is part of BFS?...Jenn

Yes, the shaky legs thing is SO bfs.

Tremors used to be my most troubling symptom. Twitches never bothered me, but those dang shakes used to send me into bed with the covers pulled over my head all day.

I can't tell you HOW relieved I was when I read about folks here having tremors and ratcheting, which I also had. I had always read in my research that tremors could only be caused by three things, only one of them benign, and so I of course ruled out the benign cause and was convinced of the other, well...because that's what we do, lol.

Anyway, just wanted to reassure you that I've had the postural, positional, intentional tremors as well. No worries.

Blessings,
Sue

You are awesome Sue thank you..

I still have not heard from my Dr. yet guys and I am sorry I cannot give you any info as of yet but will as soon as I hear anything.

Big hugs to everyone and I am just praising the Lord today that BFS is all I have!!!! God Bless everyone...Jenn :)
