Twitches vs Fasciculations?

I was reading Aarons post about "BFS in a nutshell." I don't understand the difference between twitches and fasciculations. I thought they were the same thing.

I am quoting from the BFS in a nutshell post:

However, if you already have true fasciculations whether it's ALS or benign fasciculation syndrome, then that fasciculation will show up on the EMG in the pattern of a fasciculation. If it's just twitching it will NOT show up as a fasciculation, which is a specific, well-described EMG finding that most neurologists should be able to recognize when they see it. So if you're having twitches and they're not showing up as fasciculations on the EMG, then it's probably not a fasciculation."

It says if you're having twitches, and they're not showing up as fascis, then it's not a fasic. What's a "true fasic"?

This is very confusing to me. I thought fasics and twitches were the same thing???

I agree it’s confusing. You need a degree in Twitchology. Here’s a where the describe twitch, fasciculation, cramp and myokymia. Holy $hit, I think I have all of them, plus the one’s that occasionally move a whole limb, as well as some that are not described here.
