Twitches: Facial Woes

Hi guys, just need to get this off my chest: I'm sooooo troubled my facial twitches:• Eyelids: Well, I've had those for a long time. Probably 9 months or so. Mostly my left eye, but also the right eye. Upper-lid, lower-lid, super fine twitches, more 'violent' twitches, that makes the entire eye-lid shake and rattle.• Cheeks: Boths sides, especially near the cheek-bone - the 'side-burn' area. Also the area around my mouth on the right side.• Eyebrows: Both sides - just occasional twitches.• Nose. The upper part, where a pair of glasses would rest.It is really driving me crazy. They're not present all the time - they pop in and out. The 'funny' thing is, that I can feel them comming, before I can actually see them. The skin starts to tighten up, tingle etc. and then – showtiiiiiime. The worst thing is, that I feel like digging a hole and jump in until they -hopefully- subcide. And – why does it get worse during the day? I read somewhere, that (Quote): Certain over-the-counter meds may trigger fasciculations (End-quote). Do you know which ones? Could it be meds for headaches containing caffeine? Pills you dissolve in water for example?Kindly

I get facial twitches all the time. Those are the ones I hate the worst. I don't know anything about over the counter meds causing them though.

I get facial twitches every day. When this first started for me in the summer of 08, I felt this weird tension in my face (as well as other places on my body). I finally decided to get an inch from a mirror to see if something was going on with my face. When I did this, I saw my cheeks pulsing in and out. I showed my mom who was a nurse for 30 years and she agreed it was very strange. Interestingly, I have not had the cheek pulsing in many, many months. I still get facial twitches but not those. Mine never last more than 30 seconds or so. I do not think others notice them since I teach middle school and if they were noticeable I am certain a student would have mentioned it. They tell me about every other change they notice in my clothes, hair, makeup, etc. I have also had facial twitches so strong the force me to make a weird expression. Those would definitely be noticeable. Thankfully they happen once every few weeks or less and only last a second.

I get face twitches too. I get them close to my lips, eyebrows, close to my ears, inside my ears (I can hear the tum tum tum when this happen). My twitches are so widespread that I cant think of a muscle on my entire body that did not fasciculate yet.

Facial twitches have been a pretty late development for me - I didn't get them until the last 2 months or so (having had BFS for something like 21 months now) and i find them very embarrassing although I think they are more noticeable to me than to the person I am talking to at the time.RegardsSimon
