Twitcher since about July 2006 - If You're New- May Help

I used to have an account on this forum in its old incarnation. I remember noticing the twitching the first time around July of 2006 at the age of 24, and I actually had no idea my muscles were doing that. I thought they were just weird pulses (!). In any case as the twitching became worse and as I started to experience cramping, I started to look up my symptoms on the Internet. Well, that was a big mistake! In the next few months, I got all manner of tests, including a visit to a neurologist, as well as an ENT specialist. By January 2007, I had the all clear. But I was still worried every once in a while. Sometimes I would feel like I would have trouble talking, and to this day I don't know if this is BFS or if I am just more self-conscious about the way I speak sometimes. I have had a muscle twitch in EVERY CONCEIVABLE place imaginable. I see these posts whether the chin or the ear is a 'normal' place to twitch and I just have to laugh a bit. There is NO place that the twitch hasn't been, although it manages to surprise me every once in a while with a place I didn't even know we had muscles in. The nose is especially annoying!!!!After dealing with this for about a year and a half, I can say one thing: the only thing that's going to make it better is to calm down. Recently, I had a completely irrational scare about twitching -- even though my twitching had subsided -- and I experienced a flareup in the upper abdominal twitching of the kind I haven't had in months. Relax. It's not going to make it disappear -- at least it hasn't in my case -- but it will GREATLY help your twitches. Not only will you 'feel' more twitches if you focus on them, you will HAVE more, I almost guarantee it. Worry won't help you with anything, and if there is no atrophy you're exceedingly unlikely to have anything other than BFS, which is only as annoying as you make it.
