Hi everybody, was just wondering if anyone else ever had a hotspot or sustained twitch in their upper chest area. I have had one for the last two weeks and it is really starting to freak me out. Any advice? Thank you. Mary

I get those all the time. It's no different than any other BFS twitch. It's just hyperactive nerves. It will go away eventually.SSDP = same sh*t different place

Mario thank you so much you are awesome and have made my holiday weekend. I know how much of this you have been through and I respect your imput more than you know. I was just afraid that the chest was a more unusual place to get them but I guess you are right its just another muscle. :) Mary

Nope there is no muscle in BFS that is any more unusual or any more ominous than any other. If one can twitch, they all can twitch. Try putting a heat pad on the twitching muscle for a while and see if it makes a difference. Sometimes it helps.

Mario, I will do that thanks for the tip. I noticed yesterday when I was siting in a freezing cold resteraunt that all my chest muscles were shaking from the cold even though I had a jacket on and that really set them off. Is cold also a trigger sometimes? Thanks :D)

It's not so much that cold is a trigger so much that any temperature or atmospheric or environmental change can be a trigger. Going from hot to cold or cold to hot is almost guaranteed to make your body react when it is already sensitive to things. That's just kind of what the body is supposed to do. The only difference is that your body is so sensitive that you notice every little thing it is doing right now.

Yes, I guess your right I just need to chill out and ignore the twitches. I know they are benign I know I don't have anyhing but bfs but when the twitches crop up in wierd places ie chest abdomen where they are especially uncomfortable it kind of freaks me out. Thank you so much for all your help I hope you have a wonderful 4th, hopefully I'll talk to you soon!Mary

Totally agree with Mario Mary. He is a wise man....with a lot of good advice. Chill out, stress out, take a load off...whatever...anxiety is the real cuplrit here!cheersRodger
