Twitch in Hand Since July

The twitches shown in the video link below have been happening since July. They are in the top of my hand between my thumb and index finger. I sometimes get them at rest as a bigger twitch but mostly I see or slightly feel them when I hold something or (as in the video link below) when I tap my thumb against a hard item (steering wheel, desk, etc). I had an EMG In this area in July 2 weeks or so after the twitches started in this area. I go back to the Neuro in about 3.5 weeks for a follow-up and I am going to ask him about these twitches, meanwhile, what do you think of them? They have me a little freaked out, off and on.Thanks!

I too can induce twitches in my hand on my thenar (thumb on palm) muscle by hitting it. Induced twitches mean nerve hyper excitability and that's not at all uncommon in BFS. If you had the area EMG'd after it started twitching, and it came out clean, then I would not be worried at all. Good luck at your next appointment, and keep us updated.
