Tremors in Hot Environments - A Question

I have a question for the group. I have noticed that when I subject myself to an extreme hot environment, like for instance, a dry sauna, I can see my hands get shaky. After I shower and cool off the tremors slowly go away, aside from the ones I've had since my bfs diagnosis. Does anyone else get this reaction? I remember reading that the old school diagnosic test for MS used to be the hot bath test, but the types of tests I've had exclude MS entirely, Then again, I though I could remember reading that essential tremor that is common to those that have bfs also reacts to temperature.I can't recall anyone else commenting on heat and tremors. I also get the same reaction after I workout very hard. The more extreme the workout the worse the tremors will be. And after I recover, like 15-20 minutes, they go away to the point I cant see them anymore. I've done the alcohol test, but I never noticed alcohol to improve the symtoms, which makes me wonder if what I'm going through is classic bfs and nothing else.Interestingly, I mentioned this question to the neuro and he seemed unimpressed, but said I think what you are describing is nornal phenomonon for anyone.I would like to hear feedback from those that have issues with the hands and when they notice the symptoms. Thanks Mike

Yes, the good old MS heat intolerance fright. Been there, done that, got the f-cking t-shirt, the bumper sticker and the souvenir shot glass. :D)My neuro's were similarly unimpressed when I spoke of collapsing and near-passing out in the shower. Apparently, heat intolerance is quite non-specific and exceedingly common, especially amongst us bfs'ers and people in the general population. If you do a search for "heat intolerance," you will find many posts. You will also find information on exercise intolerance, which is common as well. With MS, it is actually more than just some weakness, tremors, feeling weak or faint. The MS sufferer actually gets to a point where they simply can't move. A patient with MS will become so weakened that they are in danger of heat exposure or heat stroke, because they often LITERALLY can not find the strength to get themselves out of the heat. But our symptoms, by comparison, are just a nuisance. And, as with everything, anxiety makes them MUCH worse. I freaked out a few weeks ago and had to crawl out of the shower naked because I suddenly felt so overwhelmingly weak. Once I talked myself down, I could walk just fine, and went right back into the hot shower without any problem. I hope this helps, Blessings, sue
