Tortuous Thoughts: Help?

It's driving me nuts...I have to keep doing things otherwise when I sit relaxed, they get so intense...is this the case for anyone else? it's non-stop

Mine are much more noticeable when I am sitting or lying relaxed although I have felt them while moving too. I never go very long without feeling something somewhere.

yeah I've tried that fox..it does work, but sitting down to focus on a movie or even here at the pc is difficult because of the intensity of them...are there any meds or natural substances that anyone knows of that can at least ease them somewhat?

Bobby,Klonopin helps me. .5 mgs is all I need. I was watching a movie last night and they were driving me crazy. Spasms in my ribcage, lip, shoulder, stomach, legs. I took my nightly dose of Klonopin and within 30 minutes I felt a lot better. Exercise helps me to but that is not always an option.Krackersones

yeah exercise is not an option for me as my job is very physical and in turn creates more fasciculations when I'm at rest...I'll look into that med thanks Krackersones

I realized exercise helped me when I went on summer break as a teacher. When I was teaching, the mornings were the worst symptom wise. I felt so restless. The tension in my muscles was horrible and the only relief was movement but of course you cannot keep moving without looking strange. Then when summer came I would wake up and go to aerobics. This gave me about four hours of symptom relief without any meds. I had some twitching but my body was more relaxed. Tomorrow I go back to teaching so I will have to wait and see if the morning is as torturous as before. I may just take .25 mgs of my Klonopin when I wake up and then another .25 mgs. at lunch. My neuro said maybe spacing out the dose that way would help. If you do not have the restless nerve type issues then this process of meds and exercise may not work for you.Krackersones

I have the restless nerve symptoms at times...mostly at night in bed or on occasion sitting relaxed (as a matter of fact, have it right now). I'll ask about the meds at the next neuro appointment.

Same with me. If I stay busy, I don't notice it and it also is less of an issue because I am doing something (which I couldn't do if it was a**). It is in those quiet moments when I am trying to relax that it most noticeable - and most unnerving. So "relaxing" is a bit self defeating  . Trying to read a book or just relax with dinner and the symptoms pop up like crazy - trembling hands, calves, etc, etc. Just know you aren't alone.

If you are fairly early into this thing, it is very unnerving. Try playing your guitar if you are trying to watch a movie or TV. I've found that just using that extra little bit of brain power helps take my mind off of the twitching.A 6 pack also seems to help.

Me too every few mintes or more all day and much more when relaxed which sort of defeats relaxing. If I walk some they seem to stop but as soon as I sit down on they go epecially calves. Trying to go to sleep they are extra bad like I am full of electricity and may start moving like a puppet from the charged muscles.
