Tongue Twitching with BFS

Hi Karyn,

I actually posted the same question a few months ago because the same thing happened to me! I'm sure you'll get more responses soon because tongue twitching is pretty common around here. I don't like the tongue twitch either because it was scarier to me than the other ones, but it's all part of BFS. Sometimes it lasts for a day, a week or longer.

Hi there,

I get the dreaded tongue twitch, it started more like a buzzing sensation and when I tried to explain it to the various Neuro's I have seen they looked at me like I was from Mars. Anyway then it had a little twitch on one spot on the side. But the last 12 months or so it's twitched in other spots as well. It never twitches when I see a Neuro!. My tongue also burns around the edge but I am now on medication for reflux so it will be interesting to see if that gets better.
We have a little group of tongue twitchers here so your not alone.

My tongue burns around the right edge, too. I have noticed it on and off for about 5 years. Let me know if it gets better with your medication. It is quite annoying.

I get tingling with mine sometimes,.

I also have a groove on the left hand side, seems to be made by a tooth, but it looks scary to me, I definately have the scalloped teeth marks all round.

TMJ stands for temporal mandibular joint and describes a fault in that joint that generally presents with chronic facial / jaw pain and headache. unlikely TMJ if you ask me.

I had the dreaded tongue twitch about 2 months ago. I'm not talking about the quivering tongue that everyone gets when they hold their tongue out.

I'm talking the full on twitch that jerked my tongue very rapidly. I have had twitching on every other part of my body for over 4 years now and I must say this one really freaked me out. Caused some serious anxiety for around one week then it stopped.

Weird.
