Tongue Twitching and Reflux?

Do any of you that have tongue twitching have reflux? If so, when your reflux flares up does your tongue twitch more? I have LPR which is more like regurgitation type issue. The acid comes up into my throat and makes my tongue, throat and mouth burn or tingle on the sides of the tongue, the tip and sometimes right at the back and on the roof of my mouth. It ctually gives me red patches on my tongue that the dr calls geographic tongue. I pretty much only notice a tongue twitch if my reflux is kicked up. Just wondered if anyone can relate. thanks

German,I have a lot of tongue twitching and I have reflux. But I haven't noticed a correlation between the two. I'll keep that in mind to see if I can see a connection as well. -Matt

I have LP reflux or silent reflux. I won't have any heartburn but I'll just start noticing my throat raw and tongue feeling irritated or like there is acid on it. It also causes ear aches and nasal stuff. It sucks but I've had it for over 12 years. I don't know if GERD which is most common, would cause the acid and acid fumes to come up your throat. The way it happens is I notice my throat irritated and I can actually smell it very , very slightly. Then my tongue starts feeling like it's got acid on it and after a while I'll feel a couple of twitches. I don't get many tongue twitches. Some days I have none and some days I might get a handful.

If you've silent reflux (what my boys had and caused them to have massive apnea/near sids as babys), I would for sure talk about it with my doc and the possibility of taking nexium or omeprazole or something like that. What you describe is really GERD.

I have a theory that gerd is associated with bfs for the following reason:BFS irritates all nerves including the Vagus nerve, wich innervates a big chunk of the gastric system, that's why we get all o these strange symptoms all over the body, it's all about the nerves.
