Tiny Part of Lip Twitching

Hi all,Please pardon my almost daily posts, but I feel like something is so strange with my body.I noticed today that if I open my mouth just a little (in my case, to look at my tongue) the right part of my bottom lip (just a tiny part of it) starts twitching uncontrollably. It almost looks like a tremor. I can't feel it, but it's very obvious when you look at it. It is freaking me out to no end now. This only happens when I open my mouth and activate the muscle. Not at rest. What on Earth?? I know I need to get a handle on my anxiety, but this is really disconcerting. It's definitely not a standard, hit and run lip twitch.Mitra

Hi Mitra,I used to get these types of twitches in my cheeks when I was puffing them up with air or when I was exaggerating a smile on purpose. I've had that problem for several months in a row. Same thing with my neck/chest muscles (tremor/shaking when muscles contracted) and even with some of my hand muscles. I've posted a lot about it! What a crappy condition... Take care!J.

Thank you Sue. I know you're right. I did come across it by accident, and now I'm totally obsessed with it. It's just so strange and unusual. I don't necessarily think it's a tremor, just a really fast twitch in a small part of my lip that I can't feel. I know I didn't have it before.Anyway, I will heed your advice as best as I can and try not to look in the mirror with this anymore... I just wanted to be sure I wasn't the only one with this strange oddity.Mitra

You're so right and I'm going to really try to stop. I went a little overboard with testing yesterday (twitches were really bad yesterday for some reason, all over my body). Today, and hopefully the following days, I'm taking a break from testing!"Twitchy chops" - I love it.Thanks for your words that not only are perfectly suited to me, but to many others on this board. Anxiety sure gets the best of us.Mitra

Hey mitra. Look at my old post/search function. I have had that lip tremor as well, funny when I tried to drink something. And I remember well that I had a lot of people sharing it. I never made a video of it because it looked just tooooooo odd to show anyone.

Chrissi,Was yours a tremor or a twitch? Mine seems more like a silent little twitch, but sometimes looks like a tremor. It's very, very strange. So unlike the rest of my twitches - which I can feel.Mitra
