Thumb Twitching: Nerve Irritation or Parkinsons?

The thumb is a common spot for twitching, since it does a lot of work. Nerve irritation can cause that. I wouldn't worry. Parkinson's is typified by a tremor that has a specific frequency. If you've ever seen a clip of Janet Reno talking and can see her arm, you would see it.

There is another kind of tremor called "essential tremor" which is benign. I knew a guy in graduate school, in his 20s, who had it really bad. His hands would shake alot! I have a little shake too in my left hand, especially when I work on a computer keyboard.

Myoclonus is common. I get those "jumps" mostly in my legs, but sometimes in my arms. It is a common symptom in BFS. Again, I wouldn't worry about it.

Peg:

A visible thumb twitch is precisely how I started noticing my BFS symptoms. After a few hours, it migrated to fingers, then to the other hand. After a few days, the twitches stopped being visible, but they have continued for 4 months now (random fingers at <1 minute intervals)...and all sorts of other parts have been twitching as well. Not to worry! You may just be feeling now what the Klonipin had suppressed.

There is a distinction between a twitch and a tremor. Sounds to me like you are just continuing in the fine tradition of BFSers.
