Thumb Tapping: Commonly Done?

Yes, that is how mine started. It was a twitch that made my whole thumb move, and sometimes all the fingers. It was hard to hold the mouse on my computer. I still get that one alot, but not as forceful as when it first started. I got it right after I had carried some heavy bags on that arm, and when I went to the doctor, he said that there is a tendon that goes right down your arm to the thumb, and that maybe the heavy bags were the cause, and then I got freaked out about the twitching, and might be causing all of these others that are on my body randomly.
Just a few minutes ago, I was picking up some towels off the floor, and my thumb on that hand started vibrating back and forth, and I could feel the twitch in the palm of my hand. It went away pretty fast, but still freaks me out! It sounds weird, but I feel like there is always a potential twitch there, like it's about to start going again. Just a slight sensation where I can feel vibrations or electricity, sort of.
Anyway, if you look at some previous posts here, you will see how common that one is. Supposedely, that one, and the calf, are really common ones with anxiety. Good luck, Val

Indeed if you want a real thumper, you can have the one that slammed my right arm into the side of the bath the other day, that's a big un.

Yes, i have had this numerous times. When it first happened I was sure I was dead...nothing happened but I am still twitching like hell.

That's how my muscle twitches started as well. I remember coming up from the basement with a load of laundry and stopping to watch my left thumb twitching and thinking 'what is THAT?!?' Here it is, a year later and I have the twitchies everywhere 24/7. Thank goodness for a nice, calm neurologist who assuaged my fears. I haven't exactly come to
'embrace' my symptoms, but I'm certainly not afraid of all that they could be.

Common place to twitch in bfs. I've had this everyday in both thumbs for almost three years along with the fingers to throughout the day. Quite frustrating but benign.
