Thumb Strength Tests Normal: No Atrophy

He told me that this dent is not atrophy, because atrophy never came alone, it is always atrophy+weakness. He did thumb strength tests and told me all was normal.Thank you for your support.

Hi Yoddah - I have a couple of dents in my legs that have been there for 2+ months. I have a appt scheduled with my neuro next Wednesday for an EMG. Let me tell you the past two months have not been easy for me. My regular doctor told me the same thing that if this were true atrophy you would not be able to walk or having a great deal of trouble walking. I still can't except it until I have my EMG. But it's reassuring to hear that your neuro said that too. It makes me feel better. Thanks for the post and good luck!! By the way, where is your dent?

Those posts made me feel alot better tonight, cause I've been kinda obsessing over this dent in my outer calf seeming like it's bigger to me. It actually surprised me when I looked down at it, cause I've been mostly ignoring it, but from what I remember, it looks alot longer and deeper to me. But, I don't think I have any unusual weakness in my legs, unless I don't put them to the test that much, and just aren't noticing it! I do feel stiffness in my legs after laying down or sitting for a while, like when I get out of the car. I don't exercise much these days, so I guess I wouldn't know if I was experiencing true weakness. These dents can be so disturbing to look at, cause as you guys know, we can maybe be making our symptoms happen psycoligically, but we can't make dents happen. But, anyway, these posts helped tonight, thanks! Val
