Thumb Atrophy: Can it Happen?

Hey guys...

Well, after 3 years of this stuff you would think I have a grip on things!

At the tip of my thumb, the cushy part, it is very wrinkled. My other thumb is NOT like this- it's cushy like all my other fingers are. My question is...

Can atrophy occur in this location? What's made me notice this is that my thumb and index finger feel really weird and weak. I've had this feeling before, BUT I do not remember my thumb so wrinkled. AND TRUST ME, I looked at my hands extremely close when all this began for me three years ago.

Thanks guys. I'm have a really, really rough month. :crying:

The middle joint of my left thumb is very visibly thinner than the same joint in my right thumb. If you look back at my posts you will see, that I was finding atrophy all over the place in my left hand.

However my left hand succeeded in wresting the top of a tight jar, one of the big ones, so the muscle is fine inspite of there being less of it visible.

For what it is worth my left thumb has a lot of scar tissue at the top the result of having put a drill in, which went all the way into the bone, now that is scary. What are these little white bits in the drill bit I thought, that's bone said the nurse.
