Kerri,
I honestly believe that my twitches are controlled by the level of stress in my life. The more I stress, the more I twitch. I think you and I are in the same boat. I mean if you think about it, we all have that fight or flight thing going on in our bodies at the time of stress. That means that we are releasing a lot of chemicals at which other times our bodies don't need. So perhaps the extra adrenaline in our systems seeps into our muscles, ready for fighting or flighting...only it's actually unnecessary in our case, as need necessitates neither one. So I think it gets built up there...and turns into muscle twitching.
I found an article from NIHM that lists twitching as a side-effect of GAD (Gen. Anxiety Disorder). Do you have a heart valve problem? Many people that suffer from problems with their vavles in the heart (ie leaky vavles) for some odd reason also have this problem with anxiety. It is not a well understood phonomena, but I think it has to do with adreniline released from the heart because of the same defect. Well, it might give you something to think about.
But remeber Kerri when you wrote and said you had almost completely stopped twitching and I said...Don't get too excited, this stuff comes back? 'Member? Well, I think it only means that you can be even more sure of a benign prognosis in that case. As if four clean EMGs wouldn't convince you!
Well, that is all I have to say. I am probably not making much sense becuase I we up really late trying to read the new Harry Potter book and now I am up early to sneak in some reading time while the kids snooze as well...he he he! Anyway kerri....love ya, feel your pain, you are fine....we all know that, now you need to convince yourself.
