Testing for Lyme: Who to See?

WHat is the most reliable test for Lyme? I read that a neuro cannot really dectect it with bloodwork. WHo would one go to? My husband and I were reminded that roughly a year ago last summer I awoke to painful joints everywhere and I could hardly curl my fingers. Internist did bloodwork for Rhuematoid arth. and LUpus--negative. That winter (a year ago) I had constant fatigue, reoccuring bronchial infections--which lasted months even on antibiotics. My co-worker last year kept saying I was so "unfocused". Now this summer I had the migranes, numbness in mouth, hand, arm and carpal tunnel dx that seems unrelated to any work or overuse and the ever popular twitching/joint pain!!

I read some things on Braintalk. Does anyone else agree this might be a fit? We walk our dogs in a wooded area often, although I don't know if Chicago has a high rate of tics. Wouldn't I know if I was bit?

not to beat a dead horse, but were you taking cipro/levaquin a year ago? Your symptoms sound very familiar to me.
