yep, 1 year since I got this crap. Started with calf twitching and has progressed since ( BFS style progress I think). Funny thing is my mental state now with more going on is better than it was wih just calf twitching 12 months ago. I still get the odd bad day but mostly I am coping OK. Just goes to show you can survive this crap guys, just a case of an attitude change! Thanks to everyone on this site for the support in the last 12 months. Special mentions to Mario, Simon, Robynn and Brian (Tripper)...but you are all special! Cheer up people there is light at the end of the tunnel!!! Time for a beer, on this hot aussie day, to celebrate.cheersRodger

Congrates Rodger, lets celebrate.........on completion of 1 yr successfully.Your story seems similar to me as i too has initially only calf twitching[bad days, high anxiet level] but over a 11 mths symtoms progressed[relatively good days ,less anxiety].I think this is the way bfs behaves.I'll b completing 1 yr next month..........take care...........baily

Isn't it amazing how fast the time flies by? I am coming up on 2 years in March and I still can't believe I have had this crap for this long. Glad you are feeling good and you have made it to the 1 year mark (I don't know if thats good or bad) LOL.

Congrats on your 1 yr mark Rodger. I've always had a great deal of respect for you because of your head strong, positive attitude, and you never saw a need to go doctor hoping  Thats marvelous :D) No special thanks to me required, you've been there for me just as much, so.....But did you have to mention how hot it is in Australia, its freaking cold here d*mnit  Your friendRobynn :D)

Thanks for the responses guys-appreciated. Has been a tough 12 months, but I am here to tell the tale. Dont think my BFS is going away anytime soon though...... cheersRodger

How goes it Roger? Congrats on your one year milestone. I'm a two year twitching vet and counting - not proud, just embracing it. I don't know your story but given where you live, and I presume you're near the ocean seeing your profile name, do you consume reef fish a lot? There's a neurotoxin call ciguatera in reef fish that can cause some fun neurological things similar to BFS. Unfortunately there's no cure except time, but continuing to eat reef fish can exacerbate symptoms. Congrats on your one year mark!

Thanks MangiPNG. As you know the BFS road has some bumps in it, but we all manage to navigate it. Just not sure how long the road is!Yeh I'd LOVE to live near the coast, but I am about 2 hours away from it- total bummer!. Interesting comment about the reef fish, I did not know that. I dont eat a lot of fish ( although I know I should eat more but here it is all frozen imported crap- not nice) so wouldn't be the cause of my BFS. Others on this board however, that do, may pr**k thier ears up! cheersRodger
