Strange Sensations in Left Leg

Hi all,I've been experiencing some strange sensations in my left leg which are a bit hard to describe. I'm not sure whether I perceive the leg as weaker, or that it is actually weak. I have great discomfort in that leg; it feels like the restless leg syndrome but not quite. It started about a month and a half ago. At first I didn't have it on daily basis, but now it's every day and driving me in sane!! It is a very odd feeling. I feel this way while sitting/standing or mildly walking. When I walk more than just a few steps, it seems that I don't feel it as much. I've also been experiencing some lower back pain. Could this be related? Can anyone relate to this leg discomfort issue?I need you guys today...thanksMay

i can totally relate, i have been like this for 4 days now, see my other post....i am sat at my desk and keep having to move my right leg as it feels so tired and weak!So annoying!!Chris

Hey Chris and thanks for replying. I did see you post, but unfortunately I'm having a *beep* day myself and therefore had no words of wisdom :) … This is indeed extremely annoying!! That's the thing; it is more annoying than anything else. I'd rather feel pain in that leg!

anytime! its always reassuring to know someone is having the same symptoms as yourself as lets be honest A*L is rare so the more that habve our symptoms the better!!Chris

Thank you for the attention - I need it today.Trust me; I do test myself, all the time… I can walk on my toes (and heels) but I can't stand on my toe on that leg (it's also hard on the other leg, though not as much)since I can't keep my balance. The strange thing is that I don't feel this weakness when I walk a lot. Again. It's only when I sit, stand or walk mildly. Very strange! God I hate this!

i am the same may, i find if i go running it goes off, but as soon as i stop it comes back on again, the first few steps are the hardest then it kinda eases off.....so i would try not to worry to much !!

My left leg was the reason I had my first EMG done. It was numb for two days, I had the EMG and it came up negative. That was in the beginning of June. Then my leg started acting up. I would get shooting pains in it and muscle cramps, achy muscles and out of all of the twitches I had, it was always my left leg that twitched the most. My leg also felt heavy at times or asleep. It just never felt right. I dealt with all of those symptoms for 2 months and then one day I realized I didn't have any pain in it anymore. It was still twitching like crazy at that time though. Finally about two weeks ago the twitches died down in that leg, but every once in awhile that leg still has a heavy feeling to it.Lily

hi may.i think weird leg stuff is just one more "par for the course " thing about this -- while not the same as you describe, my left leg has had a weird shin thing going on for months now-- it kind of comes and goes. this whole thing BITES but it could be a lot worse !!!! i have had a few bad days in a row myself... i am trying to only check this site once a day because i found it was making me think about it too much-- but sometimes i look at the computer sitting there and feel the need to check in on everyone and to see if there has been any great news to read about-- or to share my misery :(... i am going to pilates-- which i dont love but need see ya and hang in there :)

Thank you all for your responses. This helps me a great deal.Tom, I believe that Nervousguy1 was referring to the fact that after having clean EMG's you should be stress free by now. You see, for someone like me (and perhaps Nervousguy1) who obtains info solely from this web site (rather than the "bad sites") it makes me wonder whether I've missed something… I too had 2 clean EMG's and still anxious about this whole thing partially because so many old-timers here are. It's difficult to explain… By the way I have been keeping track of you posts as well and it does appear that our cases are extremely similar.May
