Strange Sensation in Right Arm

For the past 2 months now I have had a strange sensation in my right arm. It started out as a weird dull feeling almost like when your arm falls asleep. I went to emerge and they told me that it wasn't a pinched nerve that it was tendonitis and that I should start physio if it didn't improve. Well it hasn't improved all that much now the dull feeling has been replaced with a constant hotspot twitch in my upper right forearm along with twitches at times in my thumb I also have a terrible ache in my hand which I am unable to find suitable relief for. My question is this, my arm seems to tire very easily and then ache after any activity and although I still have a lot of strength I have been unable to keep the up in the stamina department, so is this considered weakness? My docter and physio therapist say that I have great muscle strength but for me I tend to feel so weak considering I can't do anything for a long period of time without become muscle fatigued. I hope the doctors are right and it is tendonitis cause Its got me a bit worried. Thanks for taking the time to read and I look forward to any input.

Does it seem to get worse when you keep your arm bent for long periods of time? I know I had what's called Cubital Tunnel Syndrome were the ulnar nerve (funny bone) gets irritated around where it passes through the cubital tunnel at the elbow, it can cause numbness and tingleing, pain and even weakness in the arm and fingers, mainly the ring finger and pinky.

Cam -

I've had this for over 11 years and my new flare is very bothersome. L. shoulder, L. forearm, L. hand, cramping, aching and you name it. Now my left leg has started in including my foot. I just posted about the aching and asked people to describe it. I worry about progression of some sort also, however, my husband is a PT and very strong and I have no clinical weakness or atrophy so I'm trying not to worry about the fact that it's really settled into my left side because I am also getting twitching everywhere else.

I also get the perceived weakness. One day I'm lifting heavy weights and the next month I can hardly carry the grocery bags into my house without my arms feeling like lead. Everyone here tells me it's the nature of the beast and its more of an endurance issue than true weakness. I can't carry my kids around for too long, but I can pick them up (endurance vs. weakness). PM me if you wish and I can describe some of the various flares I've had and it might put your mind at ease, however, you have been at this for almost as long as I have so hang in there! I know it's easier said then done! I'm going through it right now. Take care!

I didn't start experiencing the pain and aching until three years ago, so I have not had those symptoms throughout this whole battle and I didn't have nearly as much pain and aching as I am having this time. Each flare is different in duration and intensity (at least this is my experience)!

Thanks StacyDance

This has been such a rollercoaster for me these last 7+ years it's pretty sad because it all started for me quite young at the beginning of starting a family and really I'm quite annoyed that so many of us are suffering with this and we aren't given any real help from the medical community. Benign or not we deserve some more attention on this disorder. Just because it won't kill us doesn't mean we don't suffer all along the way. I just wish that there were some concrete answers to this condition so that could go on with a much clearer perspective of it . I have had my share of aches and pains along the way but this particular time has got me pretty shook, I just don't feel a woman my age should feel so crappy and it sucks because everyone sees me as a young woman full of life and at times I don't feel anyone takes my condition seriously because for the most part it isn't noticeable to anyone. It is a condition in which most of us are silent sufferers constantly reminded by every twitch of our mortality, its quite sad for me. I want to be able to funtion without the constant twitch, tingle and ache that takes over the space in my mind which should belong to my family, to myself.

Well for starters, if you've had it for 7 years it isn't ALS or MS so that's the end of that. As for your diagnosis, I can't say, but carpel tunnel affects the area of the hand you spoke of and can also cause the pain and twitching your having.

It can even cause atrophy!

Your right maybe it is carpal tunnel. I am on the computer quite a bit at times and it would make sense. I have yet another doctors appointment on Monday maybe he can shed some light on whats going on with me. Thanks for everybodies input. Sorry for being so down, its just it gets so hard sometimes.
