Why after all of these years do i still think i have something seriously wrong with me? I have been twitching for 6 1/2 years and had every test available but somedays i let the twitching get the better of me. My twitching is mainly in my calfs and feet. I also have hand tremors. i started Cymbalta about a mooth ago and it has me more stressed out than before taking it. Don't know why. How do you all cope day to day when at times I just want to run and hide..... thanks for listening. :)

I think that the twitching and other symptoms I feel are caused by anxiety and other negative emotions. I think the symptoms accomplish two things:1. Give me feedback that something is wrong (ex: living my life in a way that causes negative emotions perhaps through no fault of my own)2. Distract me from the negative emotionsI think there are two ways to alleviate the symptoms. Make changes in my life to alleviate the negative emotions (generally impossible) or realize the symptoms are merely attempting to distract me from the core issues causing the negative emotions and to not allow them to do that. This isn't my theory - it's actually Dr. Sarno's TMS theory (). According to him, fibromyalgia is a TMS equivalent, and I personally believe (as others on this forum do and have reported that their neurologists believe) that fibromyalgia and BFS are on the same "spectrum" of diseases.Of course, none of this may pertain to you but if you're interested in learning more, check out:
